CURFEW - COVID:
FILMING AS A PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE CURFEW INTRODUCED IN PARIS FROM 17 OCTOBER FOR A MINIMUM OF 4 WEEKS.
A total Art that brings us the experience of other lives, other perceptions, other destinies, the cinema industry makes a major contribution to the vitality and cultural richness of Paris. It is therefore indispensable to boost its growth and promote wider access to the territories it never stops discovering. This is the objective I am pursuing with my deputy Mayor in charge of Culture, Bruno Julliard, by supporting independent cinemas, associations and festivals, as well as a whole range of initiatives in favour of cinematographic education.
In order to assist the players who make up the cinematographic landscape in all its richness, I wish to improve the reception of crews, make it easier for them to shoot in Paris and support cinematographic and audio-visual production.
In 2013, 935 crews have chosen to film in our city. In a difficult economic context, the number of filmings remains exceptionally stable. For all the films makers who choose Paris as a setting, we have signed a charter with the main professional organizations. This shared document permits to clarify the role and rights of each partner. In the same spirit, we have also imagined this bilingual site where all image professionals can find virtual tours, identify key contacts or make an online application.
Paris Film is a genuine working tool and we wanted it to be modern, efficient and operational.
I wish you a beautiful and inspiring visit.
Mayor of Paris
